Veterinarians
Dr. Atamanchuk, DVM
Dr. Atamanchuk is a 2021 graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Canada but fell in love with East Tennessee while completing her final year of clinical training at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Professional interests include soft tissue surgery and preventative care. During her free time, Dr. Atamanchuk enjoys exploring the greenways of Knoxville, taking hiking trips with friends, or snuggling up with her two cats. *Also pictured is Waldo, RVH’s resident clinic cat.
Dr. Bristol, DVM
Dr. Bristol is a 2006 Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. After spending nearly thirteen years in a busy mixed animal practice, she chose to join Roane Veterinary Hospital to focus on her favorite professional pursuits instead – small animal internal medicine and dermatology. After hours, Dr. Bristol enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, enthusiastic Golden Retriever, and adventuresome cats.
Dr. Cook, DVM
Dr. Cook graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. A native of Alabama, he practiced in Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina before arriving at Roane Veterinary Hospital in 2015. Dr. Cook’s professional interests include orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with his wife, Kari, their two children, Lila and Stella, and their three dogs. Dr. Cook also enjoys traveling, Auburn football, fishing, and boating.
Dr. Spence, DVM
Dr. Spence is a native East Tennessean who worked in veterinary medicine for nearly 15 years before obtaining her DVM from St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. She completed her clinical year at the University of Georgia and is thrilled to be back in her home state. Her professional interests include dermatology, nutrition, and internal medicine. Dr. Spence is married and has three children. She also has a Miniature Schnauzer named Quark and a Poodle mix named Luna. She enjoys taking classes at the Oak Ridge Kennel Club with her dogs in her spare time, watching movies with her family, and doing home improvement projects.
Practice Manager
Christi
Christi started as a vet assistant at Roane Vet and took over as Practice Manager a year ago. She has been in vet/shelter medicine for 12 years. Animals and animal welfare have always been a passion of hers. Originally from Georgia, she lives with her wonderful husband, four crazy kids, two pitties, and two kitties. She loves music, food, and caffeine. You can hear her laugh from a mile away.
Support Staff
Randee, Lead Vet Assistant
Randee has been in vet med for seven years, half spent here at Roane Vet. She has a little monster named Waylon that she loves spending time with. In her spare time, she loves fishing, going to the races, being outdoors, and having good food. Her favorite patients are our scared or senior dogs. She loves a challenge and loves our clients.
Heather, Vet Assistant
Heather started with us several years ago and has 16 years of experience in the vet field. She is married with two kids and two bonus kids. She has a boxer named Hannah and a cat named OJ. She is one of our surgery assistants and loves orthopedic surgery.
Cindy, Customer Support Staff
A lifelong resident of Roane County, Cindy began working with us at Roane Vet 3 years ago. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, three grandchildren, and nine dogs.
Joanna, Vet Assistant
Joanna started in vet med about 15 years ago. She has a farm where she raises goats and her beloved Catahoula Leopard dogs. She is one of our surgery techs and loves performing dental procedures. She specializes in angry cats and sass.

Corrine, Vet Assistant
Corrine has been working in Veterinary Medicine as a Vet Assistant for two years. She spends time with her fantastic daughter, cuddling dogs when she is not at work. She enjoys fishing, movie nights, and spending time with their dog, Blue, at home!
Emily, Customer Support Staff
Emily began her career as a Veterinary Receptionist in 2013. Harriman is her home, and she is thrilled to be working in her community. Emily spends her free time with her husband and their two boys. They have two cats named Louie and Luna.
Mary Grace, Vet Assistant
Mary Grace has been in the veterinary field since 2021 and is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician program. She has been around animals her entire life, from dogs, cats, and guinea pigs to lizards and tarantulas. She enjoys playing video games, going to the park, listening to music, and spending time with her family in her spare time.
Sierra, Vet Assistant
Sierra just moved back to Tennessee, her sweet home, with her husband, kids, and fur babies. She has always wanted to work with animals and moving allowed her to change careers. She plans to further her education in animal medicine with us.
